Shorncliffe-based artist Bianca Young was born in Redcliffe, Brisbane. After extensive travel to London and Europe for 7 years she settled back in Brisbane to study Fine Arts at Queensland University of Technology. Bianca completed her study with Honours after traveling to Milan, Italy for her final year on exchange in 2013.

Bianca has been painting for private sales over the years and this is her first series of paintings for showing. She is preparing to show more of her art this year in various exhibitions around Brisbane.

A lover of various mediums and types of art, Bianca has creativity running through her veins. She has been involved in so many creations from large Fashion Show installations and sets to Interior Design, wearable art, living art installations, painting, drawing, sewing to name a few! Bianca is in love with paint as a substance, in its viscous form.

She builds with paint and with colour; each layer an event of slow germination fused to the one before it. Symbols have been close to Bianca’s heart in her artwork as she marries this to the blueprint of life through her deep dive into unlocking her own trauma from childhood through creation and self-development. It has been such a healing modality for her.

In her current body of work “From the Stars” she plays with bold colour on black to explore the symbols that come through from our intuitive selves. To feel the world around us and speak to the intuition and allow that to be our guide.

Bianca is dedicated to the creativity within each of us and creating spaces for us to explore art as a way to understand ourselves deeply. Bianca offers Art for Healing in her day-to-day support services as a modality to guide sensory modulation, heart coherence and physical and emotional regulation.
